How to deal with stress?
Avoid unnecessary stress by saying no when you are overworked. Try to alter the situation by expressing your feelings or being assertive with your needs. You may need to adapt to the stressor. Try looking at the problem from another angle or change your perspective. Remember, that some things are out of your control, and you need to accept the things you cannot change.
What is resilience?
According to the MAYO clinic, “Resilience is your ability to adapt well and recover quickly after stress, adversity, trauma or tragedy. If you have a resilient disposition, you are better able to maintain poise and a healthy level of physical and psychological wellness in the face of life's challenges”. Resilience can prevent mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. To increase your resilience, your goal would be to decrease negative thoughts and increase mindfulness.
